2008-2011 – Sixth Term – Panama
2008

We take the overnight bus to Panama and are met by Mariquel, the national leader’s wife. We will stay with them for the next 3 months as we search for a house to purchase in the name of the national church. We found a house in Colinas del Golf only a mile and a half from the church and only 8 miles from the airport.

Shortly after we move in Perry attends the international conference in Orlando, Florida. Shortly after that Perry and Nancy travel to Manaus, Brazil to present a course on Cultural Anthropology which they started writing together during their time in language school.
Book 13 – our pastor asks Perry to teach a course on Leadership. For this class he develops a manual based on 1 & 2 Timothy and Titus.
Book 14 – Cross Cultural Anthropology – While in language school we started writing this book. We finally finish it and with the help of one of our teachers it is translated into Spanish
All of the kids are able to join us for Christmas.
2009

We travel to Colombia. In Medellin we teach the course on Cultural Anthropology and meet Barbara and Diego who are our translators and give us a tour of the town. Perry celebrates his birthday by parasailing off a mountain. In Bogota Perry teaches a class for the pastors and leaders there. Perry teaches seminars in Costa Rica and California. Later this year Perry travels to Peru to present a new seminar on evaluation and planning for missions.
Perry is involved in the construction of a church in Las Nubes. We are involved in hosting a number of teams for this project for the next couple of years.

We organize a young adults meeting. Nancy attempts to teach a class in English, there are students willing to study but they struggle to attend the classes because of the transport system. We are also involved in starting a Sunday school program for children and organizing a men’s bible study.

Nancy is involved in launching two important ministries. The first is the coffee bar ministry. Each Sunday she organizes people to bring food for people to purchase and encourages them to stay after church to help develop the fellowship among the members. She also organizes a ministry called Friendship Evangelism. Every month she organizes a plan to share a small gift, prayer, and car wash for people that are passing by the church. It is a great program and the church flourishes as they learn to share their faith with others.

Jess graduates from SWU and is accepted to a master’s program in Nashville. While waiting for the program to start she accepts a teaching position at the high school she graduated from in Guyana.
Book 15 – Learning to bear Fruit – perry writes a book looking at multiple aspects of evangelism.
Books 16 & 17 – Becoming Passionate for Missions Vol 1 &2 – Perry continues to work on the missional commentary of the New Testament.
Book 18 – Awakening the church to missions – Perry completes the seventh book in the commentary series.
We help host the Jibacam congress that is held in Panama.
2010

Involvement in the friendship evangelism program grows.
Perry presents seminars in Cuba, and Nicaragua. We host the Jibacam board meeting that is held in Panama.

Perry is invited to share a vision for missions at a unique camp in Colombia called the Missionary Awakening camp.

Nancy travels to the USA to help Jessica move to Nashville. Val joins in the process. Jeff and Heather and Jessica join us for Christmas. Jeff and Heather announce their engagement.
Book 19 – Becoming a World Class Christian Vol 1 – A conversation with Dave Spittle, president of SWU about what it means to be a world class Christian gives Perry the concept he needs to continue work on the missional commentary series
2011

Perry helps organize a men’s retreat with the focus on becoming Men of Valor.

John has returned to school to work on a college degree in education. Nancy travels to his graduation. Later this year we help John and Val move to Akron where he starts his first job as a teacher in mechanical arts.
Perry attends the Jibacam congress held in Medellin, Colombia. He presents seminars in three different places in Mexico, Oaxaca, Puebla, and Huestaco.
