2013-2015 – Seventh Term – Panama

2013

It is now time to work on our visa. The lawyer recommends that we apply for permanent residency. In the long run it will be less costly and give us greater freedom as we travel. The process is a bit slower, and we will have to travel to Colombia once to renew our visitor’s visa. We visit our friends Barb and Diego in Rio Negro.

We host the first missions’ coordinators seminar and have people from 13 countries present. This event renews the interest in Perry traveling to present seminars. He will present seminars in El Salvador, Peru (Eudilio Guardia will join him for this trip), Argentina, Cuba, Colombia, and Chile.

Our first grandson is born. We travel to see him. Dan and Julie come for a visit. As a family we travel to Switzerland for Christmas.

Book 21 – Ordinary Men – The men of the church ask Perry to prepare a series of Bible studies for men.

Perry publishes his book titled ‘Anchors and Action”.

Nancy has been slowly working on completing first her bachelor’s degree and now her Master’s degree. We travel to the USA so she can participate in the graduation ceremony.

We will travel together to Puerto Rico to do a retreat with the pastors and present a seminar.

Perry will also travel to Mexico for the pastors retreat and begin presenting a new seminar called Developing Missions in the Local Church. In Puerto Rico the church leader will call this a challenging seminar. Perry will also travel to Dominican Republic.

This year we will see the first graduates of the pastoral training program in Panama, with two people graduating, Eudilio and Elena.

A key event is the organization of and realizing the first cross-cultural training event which is held in St. Isla Peru. We have six regular students and many local people who participate in this training. We share the teaching in five different churches. Afterwards we learn that this group of churches has been encouraged to begin planting churches and, in a few years, becomes a fully organized district.

Book 26 – Kids in the Kings Kingdom 3 – We complete volume three of this material

Book 26 – Becoming passionate for missions 3 – Perry completes the final volume in this series

Book 27 – Becoming a world class Christian 2  – Perry completes the final volume in this series

T2 – Perry translates Dave Hesselgrave’s book on Planting Churches Cross-culturally for use in an online bible school program.

T3 – Perry translates Global Vision – A manual to help churches develop a vision and plan for missions.

The second coordinators’ meeting is held with representatives from 17 countries. This group organizes a plan for future development of the region and creates a structure to guide it. This structure will become the guide for the next phase of development of missions in the region.

2015

Perry presents seminars in El Salvador, Guatemala, Nicaragua, and Ecuador. Later that same year he returns to do another seminar in Guatemala and travels with a leader from El Salvador to Honduras to teach on missions. In Mexico, at the request of the national leader, Perry continues teaching on missions. He travels to two different locations.

We are involved in the organization of the Jibacam conference to be held in El Salvador. During this congress Perry is selected to be the full-time interim director of Jibacam. He is also allowed to select a new board to replace the original group who are now forming a board of administration for the Iberoamerica Region. A plan to send investigation teams to Fotizo to explore the possibility of sending missionaries from the region to a Muslim country is put in place. The first team is selected, and the money is raised to send them.

Book 28 – Shepherding in the Kingdom – A friend asks to meet with Perry and presents his concern that the pastors don’t understand missions. He gives Perry a list of questions which become the basis for this book.

Book 29 – The Journey – Another individual makes a number of comments about the need for devotionals on missions. This results in a 50-day devotional on the time between the resurrection and Pentecost

Our second grandson is born. Nancy is able to travel to celebrate his birth.
