2016 – Home Ministries
2016
We return home for our year of home ministry and fund raising.
Jessica finds a new job in Memphis. She establishes a unique kickboxing program at the school called Grindhouse boxing. She asks her father to help build the equipment needed for this program.
Book 30 – Ordinary Women – Sensing a need for a book for women similar to the one he prepared for the men he writes this book.
Perry leads a team from Kansas to help complete the construction of a new church in San Juan, Panama.
We join the other members of the investigation team and travel to Fotizo for 10 days of exploration and investigation of what is involved for a missionary from Iberoamerica to serve there.
During this year we attend the first every missionary retreat that includes all missionaries from our mission’s department. Nancy’s story regarding cancer and her continued service is highlighted during his retreat.
After the retreat we attend the General Conference and then fly to Panama to finish the process of receiving our permanent residency in Panama. We now have IDs that show that we are now permanent residents.
The next major event is the second cross-cultural training event which is held on a boat traveling down the Amazon River for two weeks. We have participants from six countries as well as the national leader and his wife. One of those attending will become the future director of Jibacam.
We enjoy a bucket list trip via train to Seatle, Washington with our good friends Teri and Norbert.
