2021-2022 – Panama/USA – Ninth Term
2021
I travel to E-swatini to present the fifth cross-cultural training to a group of 19 people from Mozambique, Kenya, Zambia, and E-swatini. I am scheduled to stay and speak at their missions conference but because of protests and violence in the country it is decided that we must evacuate after 5 days of the training. God is good and everyone arrives home safely. Those who attended are very positive about what they received even in this short time.
I am able to sell the house in Blaine and make a trip to the states to move all my properties from Blaine to the house in Worthington, MN. I am also able to pay off both mortgages as a result of the sale.
I travel to Sierra Leone and present seminars in four of the districts. Later that fall I travel to Uganda and present a class on missions to the bible school students and then to a group of pastors. Several leaders from the UMC join us.
Jessica and I travel to Curacao for the daddy daughter Christmas trip.
Book 47 – Disciplemakers Journal – After receiving a number of comments on the topic I began a study in the book of Matthew on what it means to be a disciplemaker.
2022
In January I travel to Ensenada and Monterrey, Mexico to continue teaching the churches about missions.
In February I move back to the States to the house in Worthington. I resign from Global Partners after 36 years of service. The Jibacam board meeting is held in Ecuador.
The 6th cross-cultural training program is held in the desert of Guajira in NE Colombia with three participants from Dominican Republic. Edgar and Eudilio Join me as trainers for this event. We include Jose, a former participant, as a trainer. Three men come from the Dominican Republic for the training.
I attend the general conference in St Louis then attend the first E2E conference as an observer.
I also teach Cultural Anthropology online for the bible institute in Panama.
I establish 3 whatsapp groups for those in South Africa, East Africa and Sierra Leone to continue sharing teaching on missions. The materials are sent about once a month.
I buy an RV and travel to South Carolina. I park close to Jeff and family. While visiting them I attend a missionary retreat and travel to Panama for a meeting with Jibacam Board Members. During that meeting we launch the online Missionary Training School (EMJ).
I manage to obtain a visa to India and join four others as part of an investigation team looking into to sending missionaries to this part of the world. My first application online for a tourist visa is denied. As a result, I have to travel to the embassy and apply in person. God provides in so many ways and I end receiving a 5 year visa. I join two members of the Jibacam board and two missionary candidates on a trip to India to explore possible options for service. We visited three different sites as part of this trip.
I am invited to attend the 64th anniversary of the Church of Zarate. I am ask to be one of the speakers at this event.
I attend the Jibacam congress in Peru. A key feature of the congress is the presentation of the 8 different missions projects being developed through members of Jibacam. Guajira, Amazonas, Anchorage, Spain, SE Asia, Fotizo, and Uruguay. Afterwards I visit Macchu Picchu something that Nancy and I wanted to do the next time we were in Peru.
I am once again invited to the missionary awakening camp for the 6th time. This year it is falafel and other breads from the middle east.
I buy a camper and spend five weeks parked at a RV camp near Jeff and his family. While there I travel to Panama for a visit as well.
I attend the Jibacam congress in Peru and then once again the Missionary awakening camp. I prepare falafel and various breads from the middle east.
The family gathers in Louisville, Kentucky for Christmas.
Book 48 – ON being Righteous – After several years of working on this material I was able to finish a daily devotion on this topic.
Book 49 – Discipleship for everyone – Another book on the topic of discipleship exploring how to disciple people at different levels of growth and development
